All About

The

Event & More

How influential is branding to customers when purchasing alcohol? How important is creating a brand that conveys the message of your product? What comes first, the chicken or egg, and should you start thinking about your brand before you develop your product? What is the relationship between branding and product, and how is it different for wine, beer and cider?

Sit down with VinePair on May 6th at Brooklyn Winery and hear from three brands in each stage of the lifecycle - established, emerging and just beginning - to understand why their brand identity was so important

from day one.

The evening also includes a tasting of each brand's products, networking and Q&A with industry experts.

Speakers

BROOKLYN WINERY

Co-founders Brian Leventhal and John Stires previously worked together at an internet startup. While there, they made their own wine with a group of co-workers at a winemaking facility in New Jersey for three years running. After realizing what an incredible amount of fun winemaking is, then observing a nearly complete lack of wineries in Brooklyn, and recognizing that New Yorkers are obsessed with all things local, Brian and John quit their jobs (in a terrible economy, no less) to open the business. Brooklyn Winery is now a boutique urban winery set in the heart of Williamsburg, one of the borough’s most vibrant and creative neighborhoods.

BRAVEN BREWING COMPANY

Braven Brewing Company, founded in 2013 by Marshall S. Thompson and Eric Feldman, is located in the historic Bushwick neighborhood of Brooklyn. Focused on creating crisp, perfectly balanced ales and lagers, Braven’s beers are the ideal addition to the party, day or night. Braven takes pride in being an active member of the Bushwick community and is excited to help revive Brooklyn as one of America’s top brewing capitals.

DESCENDANT CIDER COMPANY

Descendant Cider Company is New York City's first and only hard cider company making real cider by hand right here in the city. At Descendant Cider Company we press, ferment and bottle our cider using nothing but all New York State apples in our blends - and why wouldn't we? New York is the second largest apple growing region in the country producing a wide range of excellent apple varieties that we love in our ciders.

VINEPAIR

VinePair is a new way to understand and talk about wine, beer and spirits. We’re removing the anxiety, pretension and insider language from some of the world’s oldest beverages. Co-Founder Adam Teeter will serve as moderator for this event.
